Neurodivergence and Social Skills
Knox City Council Disability and Youth Services teams are pleased to offer this webinar presented by Kristie McMaster, a registered counsellor with lived experience of neurodivergence and mental illness.
Open to parents, carers and educators.

For so long, social skills training has focused on teaching our neurodivergent children how to fit in. However, neurodivergent voices are coming together to share the impact of traditional social skills training on their self-esteem, sense of identity, belonging and mental health. It’s time for change.

So, what is the alternative? What should parents do now? Does traditional social skills training still have a place in the emerging neurodivergence affirming movement? These questions and others will be discussed in the upcoming parent seminar.
